Monday traffic after the 4th of July.

Typically, rail traffic is lower on Mondays; at least on the Pittsburgh Line. Since NS is running less trains on the 4th of July holiday, will there be an extra surge in traffic on Monday to make up for Sunday, or is there nothing to make up for?

Monday is the official holiday, so railroads will probably hold back on originations of trains through the day. It will be a slow day, but major track projects may be taking place (two off the top of my head: the diamonds at Deshler and switches at Proviso).

galetea, milford jct and wellsboro are also scheduled on csx,

stay safe

The big maintenance is the Clinchfield route. 7 - 10 complete crews this week.

The railroads in general will only run the hot traffic on holidays. The day after a national holiday is usually a big traffic day.
