Mookie is pleased to announce that on Thursday last, she was presented with a check from Bergie for all her hard work on reporting for the forum!!! It was delivered in person by Mike Yuhas - what a nice man!
The check is really, really big - has a whole lot of zeros on it. In fact, I need to get with Bergie and find out why there are so many zeros and no digits in front of them. I am sure it is just an accounting error.
So many thanks to Bergie for remembering me and to Mike for delivering it.
Reporterette Mookie - [:D]
(*Disclaimer - actually Mike was in town on business and only stopped by to see if the Mookie is for real! He had a rather interesting look on his face when he left - like he still wasn’t sure.)
No feathers, no fins but had a little fur on his face. So thought it best not to make him an endangered species. Besides, he lives where Bergie lives and you know how that man can get my attention!!! At least until I find that missing # for the check!
Now Mookster, don’t go making all the other users jealous! [:)] Not everyone can recieve such star treatment.
Mikey + Mookie… oh dear. Did the local authorities know about this encounter? I’m afraid there may not have been enough oxygen for the rest of Lincoln. [:D]
Wish I could have been there, but somebody had to work that day!
Mookie,
I work for Hobbytown USA and we sre ahving a convetion there in a month or so ind our home office is in,of course,Linclon Nebraska. When and where is a good place to watch trains and is there andything else around BESIDES the bnsf or the up. I can see them anywhere but i like the interesting stuff like shortlines and branches. Anything can help Mookie and thanks. LONG LIVE THE ROCK!!!
There is no Mookie…she a part of a Kalmbach/CIA conspiracy to infiltrate the railfan community under little known clause’s in the Patriot Act. The person portraying Mookie is a really a CIA trained operative working with the publisher…[;)]
MMM - I am hard pressed for this information. BUT - we have a lot of forum people on the forum from the Southeast Area of Nebraska and my favorite food, er…book of whatever you want to know - Mudchicken may be able to help you out with that.
I know we have a couple of private lines - the one at Fremont which is a dinner train and the FEVR - which is in that area, also.
But the very best in Lincoln is still around 1st and J. It is BNSF, granted, but if you want to see a lot of engines and trains, that is still for my part, the best. 6 tracks and always something moving. Of course, Omaha is home to the UP, so they are the two most prominent railroads in the state.
Glad you are getting to come to Lincoln! I am trying to help out the tourism - so bring lots of people!
You know Dan - everytime you blow my cover, I have to work at getting a new one! Now, leave my covers alone or I will have to speak to my friends in high places in, well I can’t tell you!
Lets see here:
(1) Yellow Peril
(2) Big Nasty Santa Fe
(3) Nebraska Central
(4) Fillmore & Western (RI4310 needs to savvy the wide open spaces south of Fairmont!)
(5) Brandon Railroad (Omaha Stockyards)
(6)Omaha, Lincoln & Beatrice
(7) Fremont & Elkhorn Valley
(8) 4 or 5 grain elevator switch engines along US-30
(9) Council Bluffs (IAIS, Cargill, CBRY, ADM plus the biggies)
(10) The DD40AX and BigBoy Mookster snuck into her back yard.
(11) CN-IC/CC
That should keep him busy for a while.[:D][:D][:D]
