I’d like to repaint 4 of my passenger cars to MP eagle colors. I wonder who knows about decals for these? Microscale does not list these, no way for me to know if they ever offerred them; I would be glad to get the correct Champ number for the approprite set. A source, or an idea for a source, for these would be great as well.
I’ll try the paint formulae listed on the Missouri Pacific Historical Society site, unless someone has a simpler way. The special run (of paint) Weaver/Quality Craft did for Des Plaines Hobbies some years ago is long gone, I learned during a recent phone call to Weaver.
I think I saw an announcement that Champ decals closed up shop. Since you mention having been to the MOPAC Historical Society web site, check there for the decals.
Decals are listed on the Mopac HS website; also shows Modelflex paint colors. Still interested in source(s) for Champ PH-74, Oddball 187-166, Walthers 69800, though.
I just thought about the idea of buying an IHC 8 car Colorado Eagle set. Interestingly, 4 cars in this set come letterd as “Colorado Eagle” on the letterboard and the other 4 cars come lettered as “The Eagle” only. So the “The Eagle” lettered cars can be left untouched, no need to do something on them by me. But with the “Colorado Eagle” lettered cars, I´ll plan to do the following: first overpaint the “Colorado Egale” letters with the same blue paint as the letterboard, and then apply those “The Eagle” decals to them, and then they would be ok for me. So in the end, all 8 cars should have the same “The Eagle” lettering. But there is one big problem: I think that the script of the IHC cars is bigger than the script on these Decals, so those former “Colorado Eagle” cars would have a smaller “The Eagle” script than those cars that already have the “The Eagle” script by IHC. Well, could be complicated to have a good looking Eagle in the end…
