Some of the G-Scaler are operating their trains with Locolinc. Is there anybody out there in the HO community doing the same and if so I would like to know what you think about it please? For those who have not read about it http://locolinc.com/
I have only seen it used on one outdoor G scale layout, and it worked fine. For indoor HO layouts, I see several issues:
- Cost - DCC is much more inexpensive in the long run.
- Compatability - You are locked into a single ‘system’
- Track Wiring - No matter what the web site says, you will still need to ‘wire’ you layout. Battery operation really is not a good solution for HO trains. G scale has room for the batteries, but trying to stuff batteries that will last a couple of hours in an HO engine is beyond the current available technology(most of us do not has a NASA budget).
