I don’t know what it is about a cloudy day, but sometimes I prefer it over the sun. As seen in my previous posts, another gloomy shot that makes an otherwise great angle work even better that wouldn’t work in the sun.

Very nice work! I especially like the clarity of the details - perfect for the modeler who wants information about the prototype.
I used to shoot in bright sunshine, only to find that the details on the sunny side were washed out and the details on the shadow side were drowned in darkness. It took years for me to realize that the ‘flat’ light of an overcast day was what I really needed.
Again, well done.

I agree so heavily with what that guy said about the lack of sunlight. Even with film cameras, although the picture won’t be as bright, it will be uniformly lit. These days, any digital camera should easily shoot on overcast days and produce a fine picture, making overcast the new ideal lighting for most people. It is for me, anyhow.
