More Roaring Camp & Big Trees on Easter Day

I had the opportunity to visit the Roaring Camp and Big Trees on Easter Day, and thought I’d share some images for those interested. First, what seemed to me to clearly be a GE 25t sitting with a Plymouth DDT, both running (both narrow gauge).

Second, there was a side-rod Whitcomb (standard gauge) that I can’t find any history on. Does anyone know where this unit came from?

Third, an image of one of the two CF7s they have there.

Fourth, the Heisler passes by me, working hard.

And finally, about an hour’s drive away, I found this SP S14 being used as a jungle jim.

A few years back - I didn’t know a Plymouth from a Big Boy - but there was a favorite poster of mine that did and they were a favorite of his! I got quite an education on them. I wish he would come back to the forum!

That standard gauge Whitcomb used to run on the excursion train between Santa Cruz and Felton. It was last used in Oct.1996.I rode behind this engine the last day it was in passenger service.[8D] It was replaced by a CF7 the following day.
