More scratch-building classes?

OK, Gents & others,
who’s interested in another class?
And if so, of what?
Buildings?
Rolling stock?
If rolling stock…
passenger or freight?
If freight, 2 axle or 4?
Same question for passenger?
Freelance or from available GR plans?
Talk to me…

Gee Phil I’m still trying to finish my 4 wheel boxcar from the class before the last one !
My druthers would be for passenger equipment, in particular the short series recently GR run plans (4 axle) that included baggage, combine, coach and business cars.

Hi Phil
My thoughts are the other logical progression a caboose of some sort to fini***he train that has been started
I see it as being a coach or a caboose as the next logical step
But laging behind badly it is really up to others to decide that one

John, that’s my inclination too. I like this little feller, plan #63 from the Feb GR.
Reckon I’d convert mine to 4-wheel instead of 2 bogies (trucks) though.
We’d build it over in the GR plans forum.

I would like for you to do one on a structure like this…

Capt,
do you have any other pix? If so, post them or send them to me & I can draw up plans for you. I reckon you could tackle that building yourself using the tips & tricks we covered in the structure building class. I’d be happy to help with questions but the fun is in doing it yourself.

Hi Phil
That looks just the job
How hard would that be to turn into something more Aus in apearance
SAu cupola and arc roof ?? or would it need a side freight door as well
regards John

Thanks for the response, it will be a while (week) before I can get out there to Gergory, Texas. It is about 70 miles away. My problem is that “ourcropping” that juts out of the roof for the ticket window. I have tried to make it happen twice, but have failed miserably. Could you give me a tip on how to do it.

I’ll send you some pics of a station style that I have mastered.

Thanks,

Phil, I’m ready to start a bobber caboose. I spent a little work time milling up scale lumber last week.

If I build the bobber caboose, I’ll make the sides of the cupola angled, and the windows in the cupola larger. Then it would be just about the perfect little caboose!

Phil

Still working on last project, real work has been heck on me so I been slow at it.
Will leave it up to the other members as I keep my head down working on last project.

Phil,

I think you’ve hit a spot with the structure class–did you see there are over 1700 views? That’s a lot for this forum. Hooray and kudos to you!

I agree…caboose project! I haven’t started on any of them yet, but I sure appreciate seeing them. Several times a week I have to REMIND myself to finish other in-progress projects first…don’t start any new ones yet. [:)]
