MORE STRUCTURES

Just another couple of structures I built in 2004.

When the time came to replace my son`s bed, I dismantled the old one and with my table saw ,reduced it to stripwood. It is well treated with preservative and hopefully should last.

It is one of the pleasures in what can be an expensive hobby to be able to save on construction materials.
The new wall was built when the railroad branched off around the garden instead of just one side. Rapid adjustments had to be made to the girder bridge after these pics were taken when my new Climax arrived and the rear roof lamp hit the the top section of the bridge.

Well done Ian , where is East Bedfont

In typical Australian fashion I can answer my own question and for the benefit of those ignorant people who don’ know where East Bedfont is. It is an important place near Heathrow Airport about 20 miles west of London. Probably it is regrded as as an outer suburb of London.

I will be the first non Ian here. [:)]

Good job Ian (powlee) I like it when you can make something totally different out of something else. Very impressive work. How do you cut the grass under bridge in top picture ? Nice pics as well

Tim[8D]

Very nice indeed! I especially like the bottom pic for it’s low slung look.

The bridge lifts out so my wife doesnt have to struggle lifting the mower and roller over the low wall. Thoughtful husband arent I.

Hmm. That’s a reasonable source of stripwood. Oh, Caleb[}:)]

Hey there,
Well done! We threw out my son’s bed about six months ago. Nothing usable there. Just a lot of cheap pressboard. Oh well…the wife wants a new bedroon suite. Hmmmmmmmmm. That could build a lot! Have a friend who is a finishing carpenter. He saves all the good cuttings for me. I have a pile of Oak offcuts here. Some are even 8’ long and 1" square. VERY usable for my indoor line. Nice to have friends like that! Later eh…Brian.

Ian how does it lift out ? Do you have special connectors from Hillman or similar?

Rgds ian

Ian
No, I have never got around to any special fittings. It just rests on the piers and when I run the trains, I slide the rail joiners across. Hopefully, one day I will get around to it.

All the best
