More Walthers roundhouse problems

After correcting many of my own mistakes and gluing the doors in the open position, I find what might be the last area of concern.

The molded in rings of the rear roof sections are smaller than the smokestacks that are suppose to fit inside them. I could drill out the rings right through the roof, I could finish off the bottom of the stacks and glue them over the rings, or I could ask you kind folks for advice. I chose the latter.

Bruce, I can’t help with this one…my roundhouse has square vent stacks, and they fit easily as well as I can recall. On the back office there are no roof stacks.

If it is just a too tight fit, maybe some sand paper wrapped around a dowel. Or if it is quite small, needle files come in fairly inexpensive sets at hardware stores or stores specializing in hand tools.

I don’t think I’ve EVER put together a model when I haven’t had a hobby knife, mill file, sanding stick, and needle files handy. I test fit everything and file / sand as appropriate.
