Mounting Trucks on an Alan Curtis Well Car?

I have a kit for an Alan Curtis 5-unit Gunderson well car. (in “N”, if you’re wondering) Assembly is not that hard, but now it is time to add the trucks. Has anyone done this already? I can see two or three possible ways to mount then, and can also see how easy it would be to crack the end casting. How someone has already done it would be helpful. Micro-Tran Barbers have been bought.

Has anyone built one of these? MR is still a major publication so it is reasonable to assume a reader has built one. A little “how-to” help would be appreciated.
