Does anyone maintain a “maintence of way” train? I came across a Bachmann MOW “Tool Car” and “Gondola” and have purchased one (the other will be forth coming). Eventually, I plan to degrade my Bachmann “Indy” to MOW duties and limited freight.
Oh, anyone know where I can get the Bachmann MOW tank car? Please respect the rules of the forum and answer me through the “e-mail” feature should you be able to help me.

Joe you know the rules there arent any for texans and aussies only. I have seen a great MOW which was hand made and i’d love one the same as i now have similar problems to the bloke that made it, I think. It has a Shell tanker with tap and dispensing spray for weeds and another part has an aeroplane prop on its side for trimming back growth along the sides of the right of way.

I not seen one but have know people to speak of one some where I forget and I thought about making one myself but I am on other projects at this time.
Wish I had a CAD system that I could work to draw this nice MOW vehicle out.
I do have drawings for a sweeper that I drew but is ruff sketch.

Capt, I’ve slowing been building a more modern type using LGB 50’ flats and Aristo 52’ (scratchbuilt) gons plus a reffer which was cut up into a tool car. I may have more photos somewhere.???

I have a USA Rio Grande engineers car - supplied with plastic wheels?!! - which sits on a siding with an Aristo Rio Grande snow plough, a Bachmann Rio Grande full baggage (used as a kitchen/bunk/crew car) and a New York Central gon. None of them are weathered, but looking at Marty’s shots it’s something that will have to be done.

I forget the scale off hand. It’s either 1/24 or 1/29. They sell both. The couplers mate nicely. USA’s knuckle couplers go well with Aristo too. Check the web site. They have some really neat stuff. Or as Marty has done…build your own. Start with some Bachmann flats if you wish and add to them what ever you feel necessary for “maintenance”. There are no “rules” here with MOW. All I’m saying is have fun with it. Sometimes dollar stores have cheap construction sets where you can use items in there. A little paint and you won’t know the difference. Helps to stretch the dollars too. I’ll be watching for that CD! Later eh…Brian.
I’ve been looking for a more modern bunk house car. Plus i was hoping when Aristo comes out with a full baggage car to make an old fasion looking tool car.
