Here’s another fun subject to share.
Do you have any company vehicles painted up for your RR ??? This includes company cars and trucks, Hi Railers, etc. Share your pictures [;)] Here’s a few of mine [:)]
Rocky,
I have been down in my lab working away with different robotics to make anything you would see on the track as to MOW.
Now Vic and Matt rarely catch me makeing my master plans but they are own the drawing board so now you have cought me [}:)]
I do have a log skidder and front end loader both by Wal Mart nothing fancy, found some HD motor cycles there to.
Hi Rocky,
I really like what you did with the Chevy truck! That looks really cool. You have me thinking now. I have lettered my locos accordingly but now you have me thinking vehicles too! Thanks for sharing the photos with us. Later eh…Brian.
The tracking wheels used on the Hi railer truck are basically some S scale freight car wheels on a piece of styrene tubing used as an axle. This is mounted to some R/C control rod fittings glued to a pair of R/C aircraft hinges then mounted to the bumper of the truck. Alot of thought to build, few parts and great satisfaction when complete [;)][:)]
hay rocky what is the motive power for the chevy mow truck mow power then the 6? a 348 or 409?
Big 8 cyc. Steve [:p][:D]
Are your vehicles 1:24? My line will all be in 1:20 (or 2:40, would you believe 3:60?), I have found very little in that respect.
Closest I know would be 1/18th scale. My vehicles are 1/25-1/27th scale [:)]
Alas, I have only found one model…at Walmart of all places…that was in 1:21 and it is a 1999 Ford Lightning.
Its too bad that on major manufacturer comes out with some 1:20 stuff. Well, ho hum…I guess I will have to be contented with the suprizes when I find them.
By the way, welcome to, or back to, the Garden Railway forum. You have certainly, much to my glee and benefit, hit this forum hard these last couple of days. I enjoy the e-company of fellow Microferroquinologists on this forum. I’ve learned much much more.
Thanks,
Capt Carrales
There’s oneof the problems with 1/20th scale, no die cast vehicles made smalller than 1/18 AND I think you’d need pre-1940 at that too to match the era of NG maybe earlier than pre-1930 [8)]
Capt Carrales
rocky hit the nail on the head 1/18 has lots of stuff but haven’t seen much prior to 48’s era. sorry but it might be a wait till diecast fills 1/20 nich!
Happy Hunting
