MP 1500 by Atlas question

Hi

I am considering the model of ATLAS HO MP 1500 cat.n. 9929 of the Frisco rr.

Can anybody tell me for which time period is this switcher prototopical in this scheme ?

Assuming you mean an SW1500, it would be appropriate from the late 1960s to the very early 1980’s.

SW1500’s were produced from 1966-1974 and the SLSF merged into the BN in 1980.

The Atlas HO model is an EMD MP15DC - Athearn has produced an EMD SW1500. The prototype MP15DC was produced between 1974 and 1980. The Frisco was merged into the BN about 1980. I am not sure when the Frisco bought their 5 MP15DC engines, but there is only a small 5+ year window there, and they did arrive in the Mandarin Red/White paint scheme.

Oh and I have 2 of the Atlas MP15’s and they are excellent runners.
