Mr. Beasley Please Check This Out!

I forgot I had this. This will be better than any picture! The gearsets install over the idler pulleys #29905. I think the older version like you have will present a challenge. I’m pretty sure it’s been done before, but if you can find a later model Hustler, like in the illustration, you sure would be miles ahead.

bump, dangit

bump some more, dangit. Yall please don’t let this get lost. Mr. Beasley needs this.

That answers what one of my locos is!!!

Gear Driven:

Saw on another post that Mister B. is currently on vacation. You may want to e-mail him off-line rather than continuing to “bump” until his return. I’m sure he’ll appreciate the information you provided.

Paul

Thanks.

Hi, from Cape Town, South Africa. Just this weekend I was given one of these Hustlers with rotted rubber bands and was wondering if it could be modified to some type of gear drive. I missed the original thread from Mr Beasley, was it about modifying the rubber band drive to gears? Thanks for the diagram, it is a start.

Regards, Mike.

If the Hustler you have is JUST like the one in the diagram it’s a late model, and the Ernst company makes a gearset for it.
