Hello everyone,
I just ordered DCC Made Easy and Basics of Model Railroading. I was wondering what other books you might have and refer to on a regular basis in order to improve your skills on anything regarding to the hobby.
Hello everyone,

“Track Planning for Realistic Operation” and “Creative Layout Design” are both very useful, if a bit intense at first.
Ditto above. Also Tony Koester’s Model Railroad Operations. I know the title’s a little off.
One I recommend quite a lot is Mid-sized and Manageable Track Plans, by Iain Rice. The first chapter or two that talk about his views on small to med sized layouts is a must read.
Hi skates94
I have Making Model Railways first published 1957 I don’t lend that one to any body
Scenery for Model Railroads some where
and Wiring Model Railroads.
I also have a pile of model railway magazines from the UK US & Aus that goes back to 1972 but still has quite a few holes in it
But they are being filled slowly and some older still ones being found.
Its more a case of geting books that tell you what you want to know at the time
But i am a bit Hissed off I did not get the book on building the San Juan Central when it was avalable I could use that about now.
regards John
Dave Frary: Realistic Model Railroad Scenery.
Lou Sassi: Basic Scenery for Model Railroaders.
John Pryke: Building City Scenery.
Andy Sperandeo: Easy Model Railroad Wiring.
I can’t help it, I love scenery. And Sperandeo’s book deals with just about any wiring problem you can think of.

I agree. Get these if you don’t have them.
Enjoy
