MR Forum Issues...?

Lately, while using the forum I have been getting errors and hang-ups with notices about a Script Error.
I think this clearly has something to do with 3rd pa

I am having similar issues, using AVG as my anti-virus.

I have the same problem, but fortunately I don´t get the script error. I have installed a software deleting all cookies and trackers when I leave a page. This software shows me it deletes cookies and trackers from up to 40 (!) pages - each time I leave a MR forum page. Incredible!

I have similar problems using Firefox, but only on this site. It’s even worse if I want to reply to a thread, as it can sometimes take up to an hour, and I’ve had several instances where everything simply froze and I had to shut down the computer. Other sites work as they normally do, with no difficulties. My computer is somewhat dated, and I suspect that the revised MR site doesn’t play very well with XP. [:P]

I’m currently using a Mac, and am experiencing no difficulties.

Same problems here with Firefox. To access this forum I must use Edge. With Edge there is no script problem, however it is awfully slow.

No problems with Chrome.

Similar problems here. I had chalked it up to switching to Windows 10 since it seemed to coincide.

I’m using Firefox Ver 47.0 with Adblock Plus 2.7.3 on a HP 3500 running Windows 10 Pro Version 1511 Build 10568.318 with Windows Defender and Malwarebytes for security.

I have never had a problem on this Forum.

I’m beginning to realize that aging is not for wimps.

Safari and Firefox just take forever all of a sudden and so I switched to Chrome and it works very fast, as in as soon as I click the new page is up. I have given up posting to the diner as after typing up a few paragraphs and hitting submit, they vapourize. I guess Vinny knows I am typing in my underwear with no shirt on and won’t let me in.[(-D]

Try Chrome, it sure works great for me and my gettin old Mac.

Slightly slower on Chrome than normal, impossible on Safari or Edge, I.E. Never worked right once I got 10.

I do not use Firefox, so can not speak as to it.

I use IE (8 or 9?) and have had very few problems. However, just the other day I was on this forum and a big red pop-up occurred, saying something to the effect that the site I am on is an unsafe one. It also completely froze my computer, so I had to shut it down and start up again. What was up with that, I don’t know. I have been reluctant to upgrade to Windows 10 for the same reasons stated in this thread, as well as some of the other not-so-good things discovered by others about that OS.

I am in Chrome right now and the problems vanished.

no problem with my 3rd gen iPad. IOS Udated to 9.3.2

Currently using Firefox 47.0 and Adblock Plus on a Windows 10 tablet with zero issues…

I am using Opera on my laptop with Windows 10 and Adblock. No problems other than the site loads slowly initially.

I’m using win7 I tried win10 and had tons of issues so,I return to win7.

I get a notice from time to time that my virus protection blocked a malicious web attack from this forum… I don’t have this issue on other forums.

I upgraded to 10 and all my problems went away as 7 and 8.1 had issues. I use Chrome and have a delete button for most stuff from CCcleaner.

I have win7 with Firefox and no problems. I doubt if I will ever upgrade to win10 because of all the games MS is using to get me to upgrade.

Firefox 47 and Avast, no script problems here, an occasional unsafe notice as we dicussed in a now locked thread.

Script errors I do get are related to Adobe Flash running on non-MR pages. Recent versions of Firefox have been memory hogs, no opinion on this latest version. Flash is also a memory hog and frequently stalls out my computer.

Getting rid of cookies is probably a good thing. Avast is blocking 16 trackers on this page.

A clean install of Win 10 worked far better than the upgrade install on my desktop. My new laptop came with 10 and after a week decided I did not have “authorization” to save files to my usual locations. I think this was related to One Drive. No problems since.

No problems on my PC running Win 8.1 and IE 11, except for the missing parts of the forum post page that have always been missing.

However, on my IPad, for the past couple of weeks it will not keep me logged on once I leave the site for anohther
