Informative and enjoyable viewing. Appears that there are lots of great, new items to look forward to for the coming year. Look forward to the next installment.
Note to manufacturers on achieving good video - Expect to be interviewed on video at all future events. Bring pointing sticks like Cody’s skewers, neutral backgrounds, and/or displays that facilitate close-up video. It’s hard to see products when reps are holding them in their hands or pointing to shelves or tables. Great stuff though!
Looks like the 1959 movie “Teenagers From Outer Space” playing on the outdoor screen.
I am surprised that you missed Athearns RTR line. They said they released their first DCC and sound locomotive in that line, the SD40.
Hi Kyle,
The Athearn SD40 is actually the first item shown in the final National Train Show report. You can see an image of it in the link to the report under related articles above.
Thanks for watching and reading,

Disappointed that I have to download hook in order to watch this on my mobile…
Glad to see Free-mo get a plug. A lot of great people building modules and it’s a great way to model!
Dana,
Will you be doing any videos from the train show on the numerous DCC booths and other electronics that were featured in the show? I saw a lot of neat model railroad electronic gizmos at booths there.
Walthers’ representative erred in stating that the B & O Capitol Limited stopped 3 blocks from convention site - nearest it got was Akron, many miles to the south of Cleveland. AMTRAK ultimately rerouted its version of the Capitol Limited through Cleveland on ex-Pennsy track from Pittsburgh to Alliance to Cleveland and then west on former NYC track.
I would like more information on free-mo modules. Where can I find some?
When and where is the next Model Railroad in HO and N gauge convention
Had a great time at the show.
My first. We drove from Buffalo and returned the same day.
I have never been to a national show. I am a Z SCALER and a former N SCALE MAN. I met people there that I have only had the opportunity to e-mail or talk to on the phone, ie: Rob Klutz of Z Track mag/AZL (American Z Line). A great show, only wish I could have displayed my Z SCALE layout. I know I won’t be making the next show out in Portland,Ore, I’d like to go, maybe meet up with Loren Snyder and his wife of Z SCALE THINGS of Medford,Ore. Of course there are always memories of the day there. Maybe before I de they will have a show within my traveling distance to attend. At least I got to see a National Show at least once in my life. Always great things from athearn!
