MR Late this month?

Neither the local library nor my LHS have received the latest MR, June 2009. Is this everywhere or just a local west coast Canadian thing?

Wasn’t in the racks at Safeway in Courtenay on Sunday. It should have been there on the 12th typically.

I recieved mine as usually, first week of the month. Now my problem is I usually have it read with a day so I have nothing else to do for another 3 weeks and 6 days[:-^]

Here on the U.S. east coast I’ve had my copy for three weeks now.

Around here, I just assume that Canada Post, having to do everything through Toronto, sends it first there, where it sits getting fiddled with for a week or two, getting read by everyone else. THEN it will get sent to you[:-^]

I’ve seen this with my wife’s mags too…[sigh]

BTW, does the USPS redirect your mail through someplace like Goose Egg, West Virginia?

I am almost 100% sure that it doesn’t. Is it just foreign mail?

I haven’t gotten my MR, which is unusual. I normally get it late because our distribution center is awful (no surprise), even our newspapers are late sometimes.

As of today’s date. May 28, still no June MR in local stores. Not just hobby stores but also supermarkets etc., etc… The local library still hasn’t rec’d it’s supscription copy.

MR’s June issue was on its normal schedule, and July’s issue is on its way to subscribers now. If any subscribers are concerned about not receiving their magazines in a timely manner, please call our customer service department at 800-533-6644 weekdays 8:30 to 4:30 central time.

Neil. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I don’t subscribe but have picked up a copy at the local LHS since 1966. I’m in Victoria, BC and none of the shops in our area have rec’d the June Model Railroader. Is there a problem with your distributor in Toronto? AIUI, that’s where Kalmbach bulk ships its Canadian magazines for distribution across Canada.

I got the feeling that a lot of this may be more related to the distributors. There is a Canadian distribution issue involved I guess b/c my wife’s mags have been also having issues of late. Both in subs and store—

I can’t speak for the mail service in Goose Egg, WV, but here in Martinsburg, WV I received my July issue of MR two days ago on May 27. I’ve never experienced a delay in receiving it.
