MR Misprints

Got my subscription copy of MR today, and discovered that about twenty pages are missing. Anybody else?

Bob

I haven’t received mine yet. You might want to contact Kalmbach’s customer service. I once had an issue that was missing pages and the whole thing was torn.

I was looking for mine in the mail today but, alas, the USPS let me down.

Never short . . . . . . . . . . about five or six years ago, however, I got an issue which I thought was just a mite on the thick side; it turned out that I had duplicates of about forty pages.

Just give them a call. They are good about replacing problem issues. Reason for your problem is the magazine is collated in sections at the pirnter and then eveyrthing put together before stapling. Something hiccuped and left a section out.

Some had a similar post a few months ago, they missed out on a few articles. It’s not really a miss print though, more just missing pages. But alas, don’t be too hard on MR. They may use an out sourced printing company, which means once the magazine format is recieved by the printers, it’s out of their hands. Another reason to be easy is printing is fast, I mean fast. A high speed printing press is a massive piece of equipment that prints the material on an endless sheet of paper that speeds through the machine seemingly about 100 miles per hour, but I’m sure it’s really only like 60-70. Then it goes quickly through another machine (or another section of the print press) where it gets stapled and cut to size. I worked for a printers once so I know first hand it can be hard to catch the mess up copies, and them were on slower machines, nothing like the speed of the others (mere 10’s of feet per second, not in the 100’s).

One more reason not to complain: some people haven’t gotten their copies yet, even though usually they already have the entire issue read from front to back by now (HINT HINT USPS).

MR does out source to a printing house. Obviously there was some sort of malfunction at the junction. A call or email to customer service will get you a replacement copy on it’s way.

Just give MR a call and they will get ya a Fresh copy. Kevin
