MR Videos and Android/Jellybean devices

Since flash isn’t an option for my Nexus7 running Jellybean, I was wondering if there is some type of workaround for viewing videos. Besides trying various browsers/plugins, I have also tried the “Photon” browser which touted “flash-like” capability, to no avail. Interestingly, a few videos do work, but most do not and tell me I need flash (which again isn’t compatible with my device).

Sorry if this topic was covered previously; I’m a brand-new MR subscriber and haven’t figured out how to search threads in this forum.

Thanks…Al

P.S. I have no problem with viewing on my PC, but it would be kinda nice to sit on couch with my tablet [:)]

Al,

You are going to see less and less devices using flash - The implementation on smart phones and tablets has not been rock solid and is very resource intensive. IIRC, Apple does not use i as well. My understanding is that some sort of extension to HTLM may be the replacement in the future. For this of use with devices that do not work well with flash - We will just have to wait. I have a Samsung Galaxy S and it is getting to be an ‘old dog’ - I am in a 3G - 4G area most of the time, but trying to watch video content is tough.

I was wondering how many android users were on here. My only link to the internet, TV, etc is through my Galaxy S II. Diffently not as nice as using a home computer. Trying to access the last page of a long thread is time consuming. You can’t edit a thread, search or post more than one picture per post.

As I posted a week or so ago:

Just a quick technical note: MR Video Plus videos will play in HTML5 on all mobile devices and on laptops or desktops using Chrome, Safari, or Internet Explorer as the browser. Flash is the default video player for Firefox, and the player will revert to Flash if your device does not support HTML5.

Thanks for reading MR,

Terry

Thanks Terry. I tested my browser at html5test.com…I should be all set for MR Video Plus!
