I’ve been thinking of getting one the new(er) MRC Dual Power transformers but few if any dealer seems to have them in stock. I recall reading a while back there may be an issue with UL approval. Can anyone tell me if they are still available?

OGR just did a review of this transformer in the latest issue.
I believe the thing can’t receive UL approval because it uses a wiper touching the transformer windings to vary the voltage. Not sure what the issue is, but apparently UL doesn’t like the design.
The transformer got a good review.
BTW, all of the postwar transformers out there are not UL approved.
