Got one, does not make sense, Hook the (4) wires to the reverse section and any loco in the district moves without a throttle. Discoonect it and all is well.
The unots is buzzing and does not work. How can you hook up (4) wires WRONG and get this result. Red to Main yellow to reverse area (leg of a wye).
Anybody got a clue?[%-)]
The two red wires go to the two rails of the mainline (i.e. not reversing) section of track. The two yellows go to the reversing section of track (one wire to each rail). There can not be any other connection to the reversing section of the track or else you will have problems. In other words, the reversing section needs to be isolated from the mainline section (by using insulating rail joiners), and the wires from the reversing unit are the only wires that connect to that section of track (there should not be four wires connecting to this section). Does this clarify things? Let us know if this helps you get this straightened out.

That was how it was hooked up. I used a dremel tool to cut the gaps and filled with epoxy and filed to profile like all the others. The mystery is the buzzing and movement of the loco in the power district WITHOUT using a throttle.
I am feeding direct from the bus wire to the dirtrict (2) reds amd them to rails in the wye Yellow. Is this designed to feed from the RAILS which is the bus with resistance of the nickel silver which electrical makes no sense. Is this a bad unit with te buzzing.
I ignored the buzz and placed a loco IN the wye with the reverse unit ON and the buzzing got louder and the loco moved, ecept it WAS NOT under throttle control it was the module making the loco move.
My wife said that the Digitrax system was MAD becuase it was not Digitrax parts. I told her Tony’s worked (PSrev) and she said that maybe Tony’s understood better how to make it work.[:D]
George,
I think you have a bad unit. I have the MRC auto reverser on my layout, and it wired exactly like you have it. It does not buzz and works great for me. So I would contact MRC and send it in for replacement.
When I installed mine, it only worked one way. I posted this problem and Randy Rinker said it might not be a true reversing loop. So, I looked the section over and it sure enough wasn’t. Look again to be absolutely sure you have a true reversing section. However, if the unit is buzzing it must be defective. Send it back and try again. Just my two cents worth.

Thanks folks, even the MRC forum is in the SAY WHAT mode, it gets packed and goes back in the AM.
THis is a real reverse off of a wye leg. A rail meets B rail equals reverse.
