I am trying to program a HO steam decoder 1627 without any good results. I have used a Prodigy advanced and a Lenz Set 90, . I tried Programing Track, and programing in the main, paged mode, direct bit and all the forms… Kepp loosing the address and loust speed control. Any tip before I dump it??? I have limited experience with MRC decoders, but I think the one you have will accept only a 2-digit address between 1 and 99, and I have heard of other users being unable to change the address. Try to program an address lower than 99 and see what happens.

I’m not sure about the addressing on the decoder. It may be only 2 digits, but since you seem to be running it I can say the loss of control problem is not uncommon with MRC decoders. I have had problems with control on ALL of the MRC decoders I have used, and that includes the “better” decoders in the athearn challenger. Keep trying by all means, but in the long run you will be much happier with a decent decoder.
