MRC makes a very good looking Pennsy F7. Does anyone out there have any experience with it? Is it a good runner? What about pulling?
Its detailing is all wrong for a PRR F7. It has the wrong pilot, horns, and antennae, for starters. It has been blasted on all the PRR lists.
That F7 is not even close for any railroad. Now do remember if you like it as PRR or any other road then by all means use it.The nit pickers does not have the final say in the hobby. You have the final say on what you want and how you will model it.So enjoy the hobby to your standards.
I would consider a Proto 2000 E7A. They look similar to F7’s which is a favorite model of mine. WWW.Trainworld.com had a special in a November add in 2001f\for $39.95 ea. Proto made by Life Like does some supper detailing and their motors run very nice. I have a Proto 2000 GP7 ( looks nothing like the E or F units but I think has the same motor. I saw an article on the MRC F7 and I was not impressed with the looks and I am no expert. I do know that the Proto line is impressive and in the long run I think you would be happier
