A couple of questions on the above. Is there a lot of difference between a tech 2 and a tech 4? Is the 4 a better performer and can you tell the difference?
Can you do DCC programing with the tech 6 sound controller or is it just to run dcc trains without getting into dcc. I have a couple of Bachman loco’s with sound and was wondering if you can make changes on them with the 6 or I have to have full dcc system to do it. Thanks
First I love my Tech 6 and that’s all the DCC I need for my ISLs and I can program all CVs not just the sound. IMHO the T-6 is ideal for a single DCC/Sound or any decoder equipped locomotive operation on a small layout.
I have the T-6 throttle and that allows me to run more then one locomotive but,due to the size of my ISLs I use my throttle so I won’t have to walk back and forth to the T-6 every time I need to throw a switch.
I can also “program” a DC engine’s start voltage, momentum and braking of course once removed from my ISL the DC engine returns to normal DC behavior.
I have the 6 that runs a small switching layout, I don’t have any of the documentation, misplaced it. Is there somewhere i can download it so I can use this this unit to change CV’s sound etc?
I am a DC fan, but most engines today have lighting features that can only be fully enjoyed in DCC.
I’ve been using the MRC Sound Controller for a few years and have been very happy with it. Programming cv’s has been easy when I’ve desired to do it. Turning off the annoying sound has also been easy for me.
I’m running the latest brass hybrids with it and have not had any complaints.
