MRL derailment puts helpers back on Evaro Hill
Beautiful scenery in that part of the country. The Burlington Northern Historical Society had their convention in Missoula, this past June. Its a great place to visit and watch trains!!
Had a long chat with a BNSF ‘car knocker’ today while touring the back roads of Glacier National Park. MT Route 49 is not for the faint-hearted! Anyhoo, he said the BNSF might re-open the o/s Great Falls-Helena line to accommodate CP-UP ag products to/from Utah. Rumor?
Great to read a story from a local newspaper where the reporter ether has an interest in railroading or knows how to properly research the subject. To often reporters make statements which show their total lack of knowledge of the industry or local operations. Congratulations to the Missoulian and its reporter.
As a Missoulian I can appreciate MRL and what it has done for railroading here in Montana. MRL is a top-notch outfit and I’m sure that they will get to the bottom of this. Unfortunately that’s not the first derailment on that stretch between Superior and Missoula.
