on the way home I found 3 mrl units hauling coal hoppers on csx going eastbound.the lead unit was 261.not sure if they turned at deshler or not.lots of slgg and milw marks on the hoppers.could this be an agreement like when wisconsin central came on csx rails?? just goes to show ya never know with csx.
MRL 261 and 265 came to Augusta on X094 last Saturday. Sadly, trees were in the way of these two and never got a shot. I checked up on them around 9-10:30 PM the same day and didn’t see them. The only thing I could think of was they went north on Q461 to Atlanta.
They are gone now. I really wanted a picture of them. 265 was a Operation Lifesaver unit. I have a picture of them in my head and thats as far as I am going to get with that unless the 3rd MRL returns on the NB K223. Thats the 2nd time this year that K223 has had something good and missed it maybe one day I can catch a really good K223.
Five MRL SD40-2XR locomotives are leased to the Indiana RR. The numbers are MRL 261 - MRL 265, inclusive. Some one from that railroad might be able to explain how they are on the CSX.
