MRPO Web order - What to expect?

About a week ago, I ordered a couple of locos from MRPO via their Web site. Although I’ve ordered from them by phone years ago, this is my first time using their Web site.

I immediately got an invoice and a receipt/purchase confirmation, both of which were apparently auto-generated when I placed my order.

However, I haven’t received anything since. Can someone who has ordered and received their merchandise via the MRPO Web site comment on the process?

While I think a week may be too soon to expect the locos to actually arrive, my line of thought is that I should have received something by now, either that they have (or will) ship, or that they’re out of stock, or whatever.

I’d like to hear about what others have experienced with MRPO, so I can set my expectations accordingly.

I ordered from them several years ago, before they had a web site for ordering. Everything I ordered was shipped and I received it in good condition. As I recall, they were about average for shipping time. They’re in New Jersey. Unless you paid extra for faster shipping, distance between them and you will affect delivery date.

Most ‘ground’ shipping is about 5 ‘working’ days starting the day after the order. You do not count weekends or holidays. Also some shippers are giving the small retailer a ‘discount’ if they hold their shipping and have a pick up on a selected day(say Thursday of each week). The shipper is trying balance their work load.

Usually I see 7-10 days for items from places like Model Train stuff or Toy Train Heaven. Walthers has super fast shipping…

I wasn’t asking about shipping times so much as what MRPO’s notification process might be about whether the merchandise has/hasn’t shipped.

Many (most?) online retailers with a “shopping cart” order process, or at least the ones I’ve dealt with, notify you when your merchandise is shipped, or if there is a delay, status change, etc. I hadn’t received any such communication from MRPO.

Having said that, I got my answer late this afternoon: There is no notification, the merchandise just shows up.
