Lossing Jeff was not a real shock, but Berry? None of us at the Dinner saw that coming.

I still run some of the rolling stock I got from Running Bear.

Your freind Ken

Give me a heads up if you are over this way around Christmas again, Randy. Would love to touch base. I’m about an hour twenty NNE of Cranberry and would gladly make the drive.

Also, if are in that area and you haven’t visited it yet, the Western Pennsylvania Model Railroad Museum in Gibsonia has an open house in November & December that definitely is worth your time. Beautiful and impressive layout of the Western Maryland between Cumberland and Pittsburgh. Hobby Express on SR 228 is also a good stop on your way in or out of town.

Tom

Hopefully your mind IS for rent (or still free) because I’m pretty sure your DCC/electronics advice has prevented me from blowing up my basement at least three times.

Not every “Anonymous,” is a member who left–I was on the forum starting about 2003, and somewhere along the way there was a forum update, and my account was deactivated. I’ve drifted in and out over the years. Every now and then I run into one of my old posts when using the search function.

Some years ago a very fine modeler named Bob Grech posted pretty often. He must still be a member because his posts are not “Anonymous” but it is some time since he showed us pics of his careful craftsmanship (and fine photography skills).

You know you are a Forum “old timer” when you have one of the Trains.com “Forum Member” t-shirts that one-time moderator Erik Bergstrom offered for sale. I still have mine. Speaking of Erik, there is another guy who seems not to have posted once he left the employ of Kalmbach Publishing. Yet he was a fine modeler and an avid railfan and I have to think has kept a hand in the game.

You are referring to the bridge on my avatar. Stoney Creek Bridge a landmark on the CPR, here is a better picture.

I’ve been around here since Sept 2002. Not a lot of posts but I enjoy the forums. — Ken

Yes, that’s the one, Jack. Thanks for the up-sized version.

Dave, when Bergie left, he told us he was moving over to a Kalmbach sister mag called “Foods” or something like that. He may have moved on since then…

DonZ, UKGuy, Big John (forget his username)…some of our older members have ‘graduated’ and moved up to forums where the level of modeling is very high. I think Dave Vollmer did that, but in N scale.

Remember mikelhh and his fantastic winter scene?

Is superbe still posting?

Yes, though I see his fine photos posted to the forum have been struck down with photobucketitus!!![:(!]

Yes, as of 4 days ago.

Brent, it’s not only the Geezers that disappear, some fine young ffolkes have gone, some no doubt concentrating on their university studies, or starting up the career ladder, and or, more interested in fast women and cars, women and fast cars. It’s possible that they may return some day.

Cheers, the Bear.[:)]

I been here since 2001 and seen a lot of members come and go and seen some quit the hobby because they hit some rough water in their life.

Over the past several years, I enjoyed being on this forum.

I started looking at the forum in 2011 I think but I couldn’t remember. Then I signed up 2012. I use to read everything now not so much.

Railroading is my hobby and passion.

When i joined the forum in 2003, the was 2 members that stand out that posted alot, it was “bigboy” and “bigboy4884”, haven’t seen a post from them in years.

[:-^]

Been here since Aug. 2006, and haven’t been cut off by the Moderators yet.

Tried to keep it mild and between the rails.

Miss all of our known deseased members and the MIAs as well.

johnboy out…till next time

I’m not one of the old timers but I’ve been a member of the forum since about 2005 and started out as Tracklayer but because of some problems I had logging on I had to change my user name to Marksrailroad…

Hi guys,

Been here since 2003. I enjoying passenger rail and paint related topics but am glad to contribute and share info as well as picking up some good tips and photos of some excellent modeling.

Saddened me when Wolfgang “WeDudler” and Jeff Wimberly passed away. May they rest in God’s peace.

I’m glad to see that Paul3, Doc Wayne, Brakie, IronRooster, Cudaken, and some of the other “longer termers” are still here. I do miss my forum friend “Simon 1966”. On last check, he was still a modeler but his primary focus shifted to muscle cars, IIRC.

I don’t plan on leaving but I hope to see more passenger rail modeling topics posted. With Rapido’s steady stream of fine passenger models (F40, FL9, Osgoods, 8600’s, Turboliners) and Athearn’s SDP40F, interest in commuter rail and early Amtrak is on the rise again and related topics are coming up on the other forums.
