MRR new look

Congratulations to MRR and the new (fresh look) as Neil states in his From the Editor colum.

Very crisp clean look to the table of contents page.

Enjoy

I have to admit I have not noticed the change. I hardly ever look at a table of contents, as I immediately start to leaf through the mag upon arrival. Maybe I am just to eager… [:)]

I don’t know… it’s not really that noticable. I only really noticed it in the Trackside Photos section, where it just looks like someone used a typewriter (a WHAT???) to put the captions on the pages.

If nothing had been said about the changes I suspect I would not have noticed them at all. Maybe I am just a fish out of water but personally I do not find print easier to read (or perhaps I should say, I do not find the message easier to grasp) when the lines are spaced out more. My ability to concentrate on print seems to increase the tighter the spacing of letters and lines. To quote Sherlock Holmes: “It is a singular thing, but I find that a concentrated atmosphere helps a concentration of thought. I have not pushed it to the length of getting into a box to think, but that is the logical outcome of my convictions.” But then I liked Model Railroader (and Trains) when both were more prose/less photography reliant.
