Just picked up June, 2005 model railroader. I paid $7.76 cdn ($6.14 u.s.) There was no U.S. price on the magazine, what is the U.S. price? of course it will vary by state, taxes etc. The mag was $7.25 plus GST@7%(.51 cents) (federal tax scam) total $7.76, how does this compare where you live? we have no other tax here except GST.
It’s worse here in Maritime Canada - we pay 15% GST on everything. (GST - Gouge & Screw Tax). [censored] The $7.25 then becomes $8.34! I just re-upped my subscription, at US$39.95, which equals about $4.20 CDN a copy.

Handiest issues I had to look at were Fed 05 - US$5.50 cover price, plus where I live there is a 6% sales tax; but Jan '04 was US$5.95 cover price - just for that issue, I guess because it was the 70th anniversary issue.

I don’t have the June issue yet, but April’s is $5.50 U.S. / $7.25 Cdn. The price shows in the little white barcode box in the lower right hand corner of the cover.

I subscribe, but the $5.50 cover price with 4 1/2 % sales tax would be $5.75. Some of the discount book stores sell it for 10% off. Subscribing gets my cost down to $2.64 for a 3 year sub. no sales tax.
Enjoy

egmurph: We must get the “Canajun” version as there is no other price except $7.25 cdn, so we assume you" Americanians" pay $5.50 plus applicable taxes, but by todays conversion rates $5.50us =$6.96cdn. I paid $7.25—GEE I wonder how that happened??? oh, plus another 51 cents for the government to --ss away. I guess it’s subscription time eh???
Probably the extra you guys get to pay for having a de-americanized version done just for you!!! [swg]
I do, I think it’s a good deal.
