MSTS newbie-How do I edit consists?

How DO I edit consists? I’ve downloaded quite a few patches, (About 200) and I can’t work them in. How? I just got it today…
Thanks
Matthew

Oh wow it’s addictive, although I’d love some new stuff…stayed up till 3 am this morning playing it…after half a mile of 1MPH, I threw it into reverse and jacknifed it up the hill and into the river. Boy MSTS is good!
Can anyone answer my question?

There’s essentially three ways - you can use the consist editor (in the activities editor - to access it you go to place a consist on a route, select the one you want to modify, then click “edit”). Also good is a freeware program called “ConBuilder” - a little tricky to get to grips with but usable. Finally, you could do it the old way - writing your own .con file in a text editor (not recommended - I only did this as I was used to fixing MS Flight Sim models in this way). Hope this is of help!

HAHAHAHAHA!!! [(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D]

Now if we can only get a software interface to run our layouts using all of the features of MSTS.

I especially like the ability to call up the car numbers and then uncouple them via an on-screen comand. That doesn’t seem that far fetched, Kadee should be working on that.

Try this one
I set up an activity with faulty signals on Marias Pass I start at Balloon Siding Go Donw the hill with a 20+ loco and 100+ rolling stock combo set the train to netruel and roll down hill you will reach excess of 100+mph Then i put 3 uphill bound BNSF Oil trains in the way makes for an awesome crash

That sounds so cool!
I was thinking of looking in the activities editor, but I forgot, so thanks british matt!
