MTH 2-8-2 light mikado

I just received a new MTH 2-8-2 light mikado. I started running it back and forth on my layout and it seemed to stall. As I trouble shooted it, I discovered the rubber ring came off one of the drivers. What should I do? Please advise.

Call MTH in the morning and be ready to send it to them - or, read the instructions, see if it came with an extra traction tire, and put it on.

Hi timber2,

All of my MTH steamers came with a set of replacement traction tires. There should also be a small hex driver to remove the side rod screws. Once the side rod screw is removed changing the tire is pretty easy. Just be sure the new tire gets fully seated in its groove.
