MTH has the feature now with some of their engines that they provide remotely commandable couplers. My SD 70 ACe heritage unit just came out of teh boy and I have gone through all DCC accessable commands playing with the unit for sometime to get familiar with 24 DCC accessable commands!!!
The only item that I can not realy get to work satisfactorily is the uncoupling of the remotely controllable or should I better say remotely opening couplers. The main issue if the coupling is tightly coupled (tested with Kadee) then the release happens once out of ten tries plus it does not release the car unless there is considerable drag on the car. Coupling of a open coupler with just one well rolling car is impossible.
Have other forum members observed the non responsiveness of the coupler when using commands F6 and F7 as well? Are there ways to get to improve the coupling function?
I have had no responses from the MTH service web site in a week. So I try the forum.searched for the topic before writing but seam to be the the first to ask.
