MTH Switch Track Overheating w/ aux power, Help!

I have an MTH Real Trax starter set for my son and we bought some switch tracks to make the layout more interesting. They work fine with the track power, but when I hooked it up to the aux power from my Z-1000 transformer I noticed and felt the track getting very hot. I double checked the wiring diagram and it was wired correctly. I did remove the jumper as indicated. Any suggestions? Thank you in Advance

Heat is usually a sign of resistance to current flow. If you are sure that you have it wired correctly, check the connectors betwen track sections.

I have read reports, posted here, about there being some problems with the connections on the realtrax after they have been assembled and disassembled a few times. I’m not real familiar with the product, but from looking at a photo of the end of a section, it may be necessary to bend the tabs to get a better electrical connection.

Oh, and welcome to the forum.[#welcome]
