MTH TRAINS... very good service

i bought a couple of mth diesel locos on ebay… when i tried to programme one of them to speed match my other locos i made a mess of it and could not figure out how to fix the problem i asked for help within these forums, thanks for all those who tried to help…so

i contacted mth very slow replying… i then posted the loco from australia to mth to be repaired and i was willing to pay all costs

mth informed me that the warrenty only covered their locos bought thru one of their dealers not locos bought on ebay…ok no problem fix it and i will pay

mth did fix the loco and they then posted it back to me in australia at a cost of $46.00… when i contacted the two nice ladies at mth ( who were both very helpfull ) they told me that there would be no cost to me… i have had very good dealings with broadway locos now mth has treated me very well… just one more thing i still cannot work out how to change the cv,s… any ideas peter

ps… check out my videos below let me know if you like them… the bridge scene is going to be torn down and a new yard built

They felt sorry for you because of The Ashes [;)]

Peter,

Unfortunately, unless you have MTH’s DCS system (or know someone who does), you’re going to be pretty limited in what CVs you can adjust with your DCC system on your new locomotives.

Tom

Peter, if you follow the manual you should have no problem programming MTH locos. What CV’s are you trying to program, I should be able to help.

Trains Buddy, I was under the impression that you could not speed match MTH engines with DCC. But, they where so close you did not need to anyway.

Cuda Ken

Yes they run at the same exact speed right out of the box, no adjustments necessary. But you have to adjust other locos to match the MTHs.

You can also adjust momentum on the MTH’s, not sure the CV numbers, I just used the momentum function on my NCE cab.

I just sent my Challenger in for repair, I just hope I get the same service experience you had.

thanks for all of the replys i have approx 80 locos that i run…they are all speed matched to one control loco… broadway cp ac6000 number 9801… i set up a loco to have the mid and top speed that i wanted and the acceleration and decelleration that i wanted then i programmed all of my locos to run at the same speeds

the control loco is a broadway loco now i can run atlas, athearn, kato and proto etc in multiple and they all perform exacly the same

i could not get the mth locos to speed match the with my other locos … when i tried i lost all control of the loco…nothing dead…so now the two mth locos are sitting in my display case with the other locos i do not run…

if you look at the movies … click on the links at the start of the forum you will see the locos running at nearly full throttle… i run my trains slow…peter

i now have two mth locos sd70-2 and a sd70 ace has anyone tried to change the speed cv,s and have been succesfull

You cant chage speed cv’s. The best thing to do is match the other loco’s to your MTH ones. If the MTH loco’s are faster you’ll have to speed match up to the fastest the slower loco will go and not exceed it when running. Atlas loco’s with QSI decoders will also run at scale speed in one of the modes so shouldn’t need matching.
