Same old tired picture taken southwest of Tacoma. Don’t you have one taken north of Seattle?
Also, the fact that this winter hasn’t seen as much torrential rain in the Seattle area is no doubt helping with the reduced number of mudslides.
Save a mudslide, gain an avalanche (or two…). The “Empire Builder” can’t win!
Weather Service says the last torrential rainstorm for awhile will hit us tonight (March 8). 2-4 more inches in mtns.
To bad BNSF gave up the old Northern Pacific Lake Shore line up around north Lake Washington through Woodinville and Snohomish. This line would have bypassed this slide area and connected directly to their east mainline through Stevens Pass and back west to Everett. The local government could have also used it to make a great commuter rail line through this car clogged area. Great planning guys!
You would think that BNSF would get tired of the mudslides and get off their asses and do more PRO-ACTIVE midigation to solve this issue.
Do it right the first time boys!
