Muni Heritage streetcar damaged in collision

Mark, I see you managed to join the ranks of those who are completely clueless when it comes to reality. The article clearly stated the streetcar ran into the trailer. An investigation is underway. At this point, how are you certain the streetcar operator was not at fault? After all, it would not be the first time that happened. Streetcars operate on streets. If that trucker was stopped there and went in to the shipper to inquire about a load, the real question then would be, why didn’t the streetcar stop?

Based on your statement about truck drivers, until proven otherwise, I am going to assume you are a proud card carrying member of the mindless four wheelers club. To be a member, you have to hate truck drivers and at every opportunity, harass them on the road. When you manage to hit one, immediately start jumping up and down screaming at the officer about how the truck driver slid his trailer sideways into you, backed into you, was going to slow, or was in your way. Oh yes, don’t forget to claim physical injury, which is why you are jumping up and down in front of the officer. You see, I know the type, because I get to deal with the type all the time, as does every truck driver.

Too bad it wasn’t a manifest. Would have taken another ignorant trucker off the roads…

My my my, Mark…

Painting with a rather broad brush, aren’t we? Blanket statements like yours, including the subtle death wish for the truck driver, reveals the irony of your own ignorant statement.

You are welcome to come ride with me in my truck anytime, so that you can walk in someone else’s shoes for a mile or two. I’d wager any amount of money that you would sing a different tune after a single day of riding shotgun, watching the issues I have to deal with in my ‘office’.

While there are, without question, morons among the ranks of professional drivers, I’m confident the same could be said of any profession, including yours. I would hope that you would be somewhat offended by some dude lumping you together with the few lowest common denominators in your field.

‘Better for people to think you’re ignorant, than open your mouth and remove all doubt.’

It’s nice that the frame survived. What about the operator and passengers?

Very sad for the trolley cars. I hope they can repair the car without too much difficulty. They are very fun to ride.

The “F” line is track only line for most of the way except near pier 39. Where it moves with car and other things (trucks , bikes, people and etc) . The news clip didn’t say if this accident happen at day or night. There is so much going on along that line it not to surprising that there is an accident now and then. San Francisco is a tourist city and there many people who are out of towners including trucking drivers. Streetcar driver or truck driver is very diffucult to drive around pier 39. I can only hope that no one badly harmed in the accident.

Mark in Minnesota. I dont know what you do for a living. But Im sure you are a useless bastard. "Just a stupid truck driver?’ Dont rate all of us in one thought. My dumb self saved one of your dumbasses yesterday. Dont rate people unless you are God.

Wouldn’t be nice if all the comments concentrated on the actual reason(s) for the wreck and the prognosis for repairing a wonderful heritage car!

How very fortunate that the streetcar’s frame wa undamaged, which should make for a full recovery. Hopefully nobody onboard was injured, including both drivers.
