Muni ‘sickout’ ends in San Francisco

Why did the operators get bed rest and take their meds?
In other words what labor-mangement magic happened?
Oh, and Castro is not only a street that intersects with Market, but also the name of a District, as in “the Castro District.”
Most other cities would call the district a neighborhood.
Sunset Distr, the Mish: Mission District .

Sadly this only reflects badly on the unions, like the big backfire against the BART unions when they had their strike.

The south end of the F line is at Castro & Market St. Yes it is also a neighborhood.

Ian,
Refresh, or more aptly, reload my memory banks: in a flash, drive my knowledge of Market and Castro. From the EastBayTerminal, Muni, early 1960’s, went up Market St to the Twin Peaks tunnel, but at Castro diverged a line that went more or less southward serving the Castro and points south until it got to the, or 1 of the, car barns, passing that iconic view across a lawn bordered by a row of multi colored, multi-storied Victorian styled homes, and was the line called the J Church (street) line?
Though the F line turns back at Castro and Market, doesn’t the J Church still provide access to the car barn?
No question you’re right about the F Embarcadero line carries customers no further up Market than Castro Street.

The J Church line (coming from the Ferry Building) does indeed turn left, but it goes down Church Street. Castro Street is some way further down Market. There is an underground station at Castro and Market and (it has been 30 years since I was there but I once knew the are intimately) I believe there is also a BART stop there.

The F line is a surface line (and wasn’t there when I was infesting the Castro).

It’s important we have public-sector unions to protect workers from the greedy public.

Many members of the public would kill for a public sector job, but lack the family connections to get one

Anna, you make me wish I could be inspired to say something flippant like, “when I was infesting the Castro.”
It’s the best line, I consider, that has been written here.
I mean in the Newswire.
Using seniority on you, though, my recollections are two decades greater, or lesser, than yours.
All the rails were above ground then…ahhh, Twin Peaks Tunnel excepted.
BART’s construction was vibrant in the late 1960’s; MUNI was being buried under Market Street.
I coulda’ shoulda’ used Google maps but asking…more fun and satisfaction? I Doubt It?
Was the J line carbarn access?
