Question 3: Veblen, S.D. – Sunflour Railroad.

You know your stuff !

Ok. I don’t have a clue on any of the 3, but I am impressed with 1435mm for getting #3

I think the answer to #2 is Tampico and it’s where Ronald Reagan was born. And I think the first name is Hoople.

Well done !

Hmmm. Let’s see…Gabe and Ed live in Indianna. N.J. is the garden state. Minnesota is the gopher state. Ohio is the buckeye state. The railroad that serve MN and Ohio is?

Am I getting warm, at least?

Yes, that is all correct. (Railroad company, not railroad, and Amtrak serves NJ)

Yes we do (Gabe and ed). I feel honored. Hmmm maybe it wasnt me the question was targeted to.

ed

You said it was an american company so it can’t be on the CP or CN right.

That is correct, and I am using Ed and Gabe for clues to the Cities.

Is the railway company Grand Trunk Western (GTW)?

Which Ed?

I’ll take a shot in the dark…Pittsburg & Lake Erie?

No, Grand Trunk did/does run through Valparaiso, but never reached Indianapolis. The middle part of the route I’m looking for was part of GTW before they sold it.

No. Chad, you have a big country to explore. Perhaps you should go on a big trip out east for you before you have a Chad Jr ?

Chad might be onto something there. Was it US Steel Co., that operated railroad companies in both MN and Ohio?

Ops I read the question wrong anyway. Now I see it’s the route you are after.

I don’t know about a big trip back east, but I am getting closer as I plan on going to eastern Wyoming and mabee Nebraska this fall on a railfan trip with my dad.

#1- Rail America - operates the Otter Tail Valley RR in MN, the Central Railroad of Indianapolis and Chicago Fort Wayne and Eastern in IN, and the Central Railroad of Indiana and Indiana and Ohio Railroads in Ohio… and nothing in New Jersey.

That’s it. The CF&E connects Valpo and Lima, the Indiana and Ohio connects Lima and Cincinnati, and the Central of Indiana connects Cincy with Indianapolis.
