Hmmm. Let’s see…Gabe and Ed live in Indianna. N.J. is the garden state. Minnesota is the gopher state. Ohio is the buckeye state. The railroad that serve MN and Ohio is?
No, Grand Trunk did/does run through Valparaiso, but never reached Indianapolis. The middle part of the route I’m looking for was part of GTW before they sold it.
Ops I read the question wrong anyway. Now I see it’s the route you are after.
I don’t know about a big trip back east, but I am getting closer as I plan on going to eastern Wyoming and mabee Nebraska this fall on a railfan trip with my dad.
#1- Rail America - operates the Otter Tail Valley RR in MN, the Central Railroad of Indianapolis and Chicago Fort Wayne and Eastern in IN, and the Central Railroad of Indiana and Indiana and Ohio Railroads in Ohio… and nothing in New Jersey.
That’s it. The CF&E connects Valpo and Lima, the Indiana and Ohio connects Lima and Cincinnati, and the Central of Indiana connects Cincy with Indianapolis.
