McKinley was elected in 1896. He was inaugurated in 1897 and was shot in 1901.
How far is this museum from Metrolink? Is there a bus transfer that can be made from Metrolink which can get one there?
Looks like we’ll make another trip to the museum this spring.
I was there a few years ago, and was disappointed in the condition of some of the locomotives there. The Centennial, for instance, was in such poor condition that I refused to even take a picture. The Big Boy was not much better. I hope next time I visit (if I do) I hope things will look better.
There is a bus transfer from the MetroLink on weekends There is the Manchester line two miles north of Museum.
The Metrolink map shows the end of the line at Shrewsbury-Lansdowne to be nowhere close to the museum. From this point, one could catch bus 46 or 210 to the I-44 frontage, where one would change to bus 58X. That bus, however, does not go by the museum’s front door, but rather (guessing at the scale of the map) perhaps 3/4 of a mile south. An automobile would likely be the best option.
