Today is my 75th birthday. It is also the 5th aniversary of returning to HO scale trains after my 20 year “vacation”. What a good time I have had. I finaly have a layout that actually runs, and scenery that I enjoy looking at. I have finaly had a chance to built the kits I had only dreamed of before. I wish to express thanks: To this forum and its members who answered my many questions and introduced me to many new things included DCC with sound, Woodland Scenics, and foam scenery. To my LHS who put up with my silly newbie questions and only sold me the “good stuff”. To the Twin Cities Division of NMRA for introducing me to the great modelers in my area. Thanks to you all.

Your layout has been a constant inspiration to me, so rest assured that you’ve contributed as much to the rest of us as you’ve gotten from the forum.
Now, can I have some cake?
Art,
Happy birthday to us! I am 57 today.
Dale
Happy Birthday Art.[bday]
It is my father in laws 75th Birthday today so May 6th produced at least two very capable people. [bow]
When I got back into the hobby and and started looking at photos of layouts on the net, none inspired me more than yours. What I had in my mind was what you had in your home. Thanks for answering a lot of my newbe questions over the passed few years.
You have without a doubt the best place to hold a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner.[(-D]
Enjoy your day!!!
Brent
Have a happy happy birthday, Art! And we hope to have you around for many years to come!

Well now, congradulations Art and many more! I’m about 7 years younger in age but we’re about the same on building that HO scale layout and what a journey it has been. I was just thinking last night that I wished I had started this about 30 years ago, but then I remembered I’ve moved a couple of times (at least) in that time so I would’ve started over at least that much.
Anyway, congrats on the birthday and eat a piece of cake for me!
Jarrell
Happy birthday Art, I have very much enjoyed your contribution on the forum. Looking forward to many more years of participation.
Have a wonderful day!
Many happy returns, Art! The forum is a better place for your presence. [:)]

Prolly some ice cream too.
John
Today is number 80 for me!
When do I get the abilities that you picked up in 75 years?
Wishing you a great and productive birthday, Art. You’ve given me renewed hope that I will be able to substantially complete my as yet unstarted retirement layout as you’ve only got 10 years and 25 days headstart on me. Now it’s just to get the space cleared[banghead]. Gary
Happy birthday, Art. I get to celebrate 74 next month. Been a great life and it isn’t over yet. I didn’t take a “leave of absence” however, had my first train when I was six months old as my dad was a Santa Fe engineer and couldn’t wait for another modeler (He was O gauge). Went to HO during college years in the late 50’s, been stuck on HO ever since, did add garden railroading in during the 80’s.

[bday], Art, and many more years of model railroading fun to come!
[:-^]
A very happy Birthday to Art at 75 and Cliff at 80. [bday] and Mobileman44 or is it 66 ???
It is great to see you fellas just getting your second wind.
And always look forward to your contributions to the Forum and especially in the diner.
Chloe and Zoe, special treatment for these three regular Guests, Front and Center if you please.
They should have that Triple chocolate German cake that Petra and Ulrich sent over with a large helping of strawberry ice cream and whip cream, as well a pitcher of Root Beer to float that for them too and just put that on my tab. ( keep that out of Vinnies sight for a while ).
CONGRATULATIONS…
Johnboy out…
Hi!
Art, it looks like we share a birthday - I’m an “in my prime” 66 today! Model Railroading has been a part of my life for over 55 years, and has kept me sane, and was my “pacifier” during difficult times.
I’m putting together my “last” layout (11x15, 2 level, HO, with DCC), which replaces my last one - built in 1993-4. I actually made the jump to DCC, a difficult decision for this ol guy, but one that I am very pleased that I have made.
Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!
Mobilman44
Happy birthday to Art, Cliff and Mobilman44!
Here is looking forward to many more great pictures and posts from you guys!

Yesterday was my 16th, so I guess we’ve got both ends of the spectrum in this thread!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
It would have been my father’s 100th. He got a used pre-war Lionel for my first train from a family friend. Mom said he was always upset with me when he wanted to lay in bed and watch the train go round and round. I would always stop and start it. He kept buying me stuff until I took time off for college, family and work. Now that I’m back I think of what both my folks would think of some of the beautiful layouts featured these days.
Thank you for all your contributions.
Richard
