These have been chugging around central florida for quite a while from Orlando to Ocala, Nice shortline to go out and railfan. So when athearn came out with the CF-7 and in FCRR markings I was going to buy one, Unfortunately they elected to do it in the original 1980’s paint scheme so I bought an undecorated one. Before I got started they released a second batch and I noticed the Pioneer Valley scheme was almost the same as the current FCRR so I bought it. Removed the lettering and changed the striping from black to red and here it is
Love your CF 7, I did some checking on the railphoto website, the only thing I see incorrect was the number should be behind the “P” and not in front of it. I have 2 CF 7’s but painted in my own custom road. I have them posted on my myspace page if you care to check.
Keep up the great work.

bdewoody- I have one also. I live in Eustis about 25 minutes from Apopka where they are based. See it or hear it about every two weeks. IIRC- Same people own Pioneer Rr.

That is a great model. I got my two FCRR Athearn CF7 (#47 and #49) two days ago. They are currently in the “shop” to get new A-Line motors.
I would like to do some more FCRR engines but I have no FCRR decals. Where did you get yours them from?
You wrote about an old paint pattern. I did only find CF7 #49 with the stripes in black paint. Is that the old paint scheme?
Nice looking CF-7 good job , my fictional Florida shortline just picked one up , I am currently relettering it and adding some details .
Most of my pics were of the right side and the P was toward the rear. I didn’t even check the left side and just assumed it would be toward the rear too, but you are right. Heck I might have posted the photo you are referring to, I sent some to Fallen Flags.
I may get around to fixing it.
The original athearn release for FCRR was a two tone grey and red I believe. The second scheme was red with yellow lettering and black stripes. The current scheme is red with yellow lettering and yellow stripes.
The decals came from Concord Car Shops Decals . They came with black stripes so I used some yellow stripes I had in my scap box. The initials are FCRR on the decals but to be current they should be FCEN, I went ahead and used FCRR. I got the decals at Colonial Photo & Hobby, they are located half a block from the intersection of Hwy 50 and Mills Ave. in Orlando.
Thank you for the explanation of the paint scheme and the pointers to the decal.
Looks like both companies are not doing online selling in the internet to Germany. I’ll keep searching for a dealer of Concord decals with a web shop.
