My Bachmann Spectrum stalls/hesitates at turnouts?

Hello, I have a Bachmann Spectrum heavy mountain w/DCC and sound. This loco is only been run about 45min total on my unfinished layout. I noticed no problems and the loco looks and sounds Great. Then I ran it on a new, large hobby shop layout and it stoped or hesitated at every turnout. I then ran it on a friends layout and it was alot better but still hesitated a few times. What do you think the problem is?

Are the all the frogs powered? You did not say. Don’t depend on the points for routing power.

A loco tha tbig should NEVER need powered frogs, unless the turnouts are larger than #8, assuming the pickups is on both sides of the loco AND both sides of the tender. The span of that power footprint can easily be completely past the turnout at all times.

You might simply have a loose wire or maybe the plug between the loco and tender is not firmly plugged in. Or it might be dirty wheels, or dirty pickup wipers.
