Why all of a sudden when I attempt to post a message on an existing thread on this forum that I am blocked with the message my email subscription with this forum has been disabled? Stuff like this makes me want to spend time elsewhere.

Are you referring to the message at the top of a thread that says: Email Subscription Disabled? Just click it and you’ll get an email every time someone replies to that thread. By default it is set to disabled.
Can you see the Reply button?
When the forum first came back up, we all had to log off and then log back on again, with the same user name (e-mail address, actually) and password. Until we did that, we could not reply even though it said we were logged on. It wouldn’t surprise me if we had to do this again every now and then.
Or, maybe you’re looking at one of those threads that’s “gone wide.” The text window stretches way out beyond the right edge of your screen, so you have to scroll over to see the right-hand side. Since Reply is now over on the right, you might not even see the button on your screen until you scroll.
