My engineer has nothing to sit on.

Recently purchased an engineer to put in one of my steamers. He seems to be shaped to sit in a seat…but my steamer doesn’t have chairs. (Guess they felt the engineer should always stand. )

Anyway should I make a chair or can one be purchased? Let’s put it this way I’m not creative…my chair might look like a glob of goop so if one can be purchased…

I would take a block of styrene and paint it flat black. Then glue the seat to the deck and the butt to the seat with styrene cement or CA.

Misterbeasley has the right idea. There are loco seats made by some of the detail manufacturers but IMO they aren’t worth the hassle. Odds are you’d have to modify it to fit in your loco anyway. Steam loco cabs are usually quite cramped. Several of my steam crews had to have legs or feet “amputated” to fit in where they should. Not to mention several arm surgeries.

Vampire did you happened to chew the legs off? Couldn’t resist. LOL

Hmm since I have no styrene handy I’ll have to wait until I have a need for more of it. The engineer will just have to drink coffee and … do engineers eat Donuts?

Only if they want to. I don’t touch them - not diabetec friendly
