My first layout!

Please give me some hints and tips to make it a better layout overall! This is an HO freelance Illinois Central layout in the 40’s and 50’s. Here are a couple things you should know first! The blue represents the basement walls and the brown is the inner benchwork. The benchwork is 48" high.

  1. The aisle widths are fine. I know this because I already have them built[:D]
  2. The track will fit fine on the loop parts because I’ve already laid it out to check it!
  3. I’d like to add a cattle stockyard any suggestions as to where it should go?
  4. I’d also like a depot or two but where?
  5. Reaching to the back and corners is not a problem either.
I’d also like some suggestions as to some more industries that would work with this.

Thank you,
Aaron

hay that look awsome
your better than 92.5 % of us out here with that layout
check out the walthers superior packing co I love that one (dont have )
or the coke plant ( nope I drink coke)
or the furnture factory nice… hmm I dont have that one either wtf
I have the colonial church (whaaa…)
I made some skyscrapers

Looks really nice. Just the right amount of track- enough for lots of switching, but it doesn’t look crowded. Anything with IC is an excellent plan.

very nice indeed!

Hey Bud. Those sky scrapers look great man!!!
Zies96-Good looking track plan.Looks like a good 1 man operation where you can have a main line running while your doing switching.

Looks good, the only thing I would add is a switch lead for your yard, so your switcher does’nt have to use the main line while making up trains.
