My first locomotive

My lovely wife just gave me my very first locomotive for Christmas. It’s a Victorian Railways B class (B67):

(Subtle hints such as HO Gauge, Victorian railways, 1950/1960 era certainly seem to work, must try again at birthday time).

Look what happened to the original:

Sorry, don’t know how to add photos to my topic. Help!

Here it is:

Maxx,

If they are your own pictures then you need to host them somewhere (Photobucket, ImageShack, Railimages, etc.) then copy and paste the URL (web address) to your post here. To display them in a post:

  • Open up your post
  • Click the film strip icon (2nd row, 3rd from the right) up above your text box
  • Insert the picture’s URL in the Link to Media text box
  • Click the Insert button - Your picture should be visible in your post at this point. If not, then you haven’t copied the correct URL.
  • Finish any comments in your post
  • Click the Post button

Tom

Congrats! on your new locomotive!!!

Maxx

If you need a more detailed explanation of how to post pictures go to this thread:

As I have said before, it is long winded but I think it covers all the steps.

Thanks everyone, I’ll do better next time. Now, how do I fit a decoder? Hmmm!!!

(Note to self: erect shelving, buy track, buy DCC system). We’re getting there.

Your first one is always special and to have the wife get it is even better.

That’s true.

Instead of locomotives, my wife always gives me grief. [(-D]

Mine too sometimes, lol. Mine is still in bed, to much wine last night I think. I want to open up my presents!!!

Even if you never DCC convert it, even if you never run it, It SHOULD carry a prominent display postion where she knows you treaures it greatly.

What I do when Christmas or B-day rolls around is send DIRECT email links to what I want so there is NO disappointments!!

Happy playing!!!

Heck, I can do better than that.

Just buy five of your favorite locomotives and set them on the table on display. Let the wife pick one out and wrap it. You keep the other four as well and simply place them on the layout. [swg]

Someone asked the other day if I woke up cranky. I told them “No, I generally just let her sleep in!” [(-D]

Do you have any pics of it on the wall?

The only pic I can find is at the bottom of this link:

Hope this helps.

Congratulations! I still have my first locomotive displayed on a shelf in the train room.
