Hi, yesterday i rode my bike to my LHS. There i picked out a EMD GP 7 Phase1. it is made by atlas, it has halogen like headlights. the best part i got it for $60[:D] The had it listed at $84.95. cant wait to have a layout to run it on. ( going to start that in about 2 weeks) Trainfreek
I had a nano-scale engine once.
Back in '72, I think.
Bachmann Docksider with valve gear, no less.
Wait until you’re a little older and can’t see nano-scale anymore!
BTW, FWIW, I think mine cost new about fifteen bucks.

Congrats, trainfreek. I can hardly wait to get one myself.
I had an Atlas Southern Pacific SD-9 that I deary loved, but I gave in and sold it to one of my buddies that kept hinting around at how much he liked it. Now I hide everything that I feel he might like when ever I know he’s coming over ([;)])…
Like Curmudgeon said, N scale is great - as long as you have the eye sight for it.

Congrats! You got a good engine and a great deal. Make sure you break it in, then relube it and it will just purr and crawl. I am partial to Atlas for engines, while the KATO’s are good runners, the slow speed crawls of the Atlas are great.
i forgot to mention the roadname is Maine Central. One of my favorites.[8D]
Congrats! Atlas make good engines and they are almost as good as a Kato. Stick to these two brands and enjoy hours of fun.
