We all know of Adam’s (Cheese3’s) version of the Galloping Goose, the Wobbling Donkey. And, if I do recall, in his post, some members said that they wanted to build one themself. Now, here’s a question, how many of y’all actually did? Well, I can honestly say, I DID![:D]
Now, my version of the Goose may not be as fancy as the Donkey. Some of us cannot afford Rolls Royces.[:p] But, I did have a spare GM Hummer H2 lying around, and I just so happened to have a 50’ steel boxcar waiting to be used for something. As well as an older Bachmann GP40, with a motor built onto the truck, perfect for mounting inside of the boxcar. Throw in an X-Acto knife, a Zona saw, and some Cyanoacrylate Adhesive (CA, a.k.a Super Glue), and viola, I had a running model that was inspired by our very own Cheese3.[:D]
Now, without further delay, I present my version of the Galloping Goose, which I have named…
THE PACK MULE

^Side view of The Pack Mule. Is it longer than you expected?

^Front view, detailing the Hummer H2. The airhorns, step ladder, and air tank on the hood are all additions. The airhorn are from an Athearn kit, and the steps and tank are from the boxcar itself.

^Rear view. If you look closely, you can see the bumper of the H2 protruding from under the boxcar’s yellow shell.
The Scott Squad Pack Mule: “Bringing style to a blue collar job.” [:p]
The Scott Squad MoW decals are only paper temporaries, I hope to paint it as soon as I get an airbrush.
This was a really fun project. It only took me 5 hours and 45 minutes to complete last Wednesday. I was a great project to spend an afternoon
